Following India’s 20-run triumph against Australia in the fourth T20I at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Friday, Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of the ‘Men in Blue,’ commended his team’s resilience, emphasizing the players’ display of character in securing the victory.
During the post-match presentation, Suryakumar shared that he urged the players in the team meeting to play fearlessly. He specifically praised Axar Patel, expressing awe at his remarkable bowling performance. Suryakumar mentioned that everything went well for the team except the toss, and he appreciated the boys for exhibiting character, considering it crucial.
Reflecting on the match, he highlighted the solid 66-run partnership between Rinku Singh (46 runs from 29 balls) and Jitesh Sharma (35 runs from 19 balls) in the first inning, contributing to India’s total of 174 runs. Ben Dwarshuis led the Australian bowling attack, securing three wickets while conceding 40 runs. Despite Matthew Wade’s notable contribution of 36 runs from 23 balls in the run chase, Australia couldn’t secure a victory.
