Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief A Revanth Reddy asserted on Thursday that the ruling party, BRS, failed to fulfill its promises over the past nine years. He urged the people to support the Congress for a government focused on the welfare of the poor. Addressing gatherings in Hyderabad and neighboring constituencies, Revanth emphasized the need for change, characterizing the situation as a battle between the rulers and the people.

Highlighting alleged shortcomings, he claimed that no degree college was sanctioned in Medchal, and issues like the Jawahar Nagar dumping yard remained unresolved. Revanth pledged that, if elected, the Congress would prioritize establishing a degree college in Medchal and a 100-bed hospital. He also promised more affordable gas cylinders and an increase in the Aarogyasri scheme cap from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

Revanth criticized the worsening conditions in Telangana under BRS’s governance, blaming misrule and rising prices. At a public meeting in Malkajgiri, he accused Minister Malla Reddy of land occupation. Additionally, recent announcements by Revanth included the Congress’s commitment to providing 24 hours of free electricity to farmers if they win the upcoming Assembly polls.

In contrast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Hyderabad, labeled the BSP, Congress, and JD(U) as anti-Dalit. He specifically criticized Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and pledged to address historical injustices, supporting the demand for sub-categorization of scheduled castes. Meanwhile, Telangana BJP Chief, G Kishan Reddy, predicted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s defeat in both the Gajwel and Kamareddy constituencies, alleging a conspiracy between BRS and Congress against the BJP candidate in Kamareddy. Kishan Reddy expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory and criticized Rao’s statements about a coalition government at the Centre after the 2024 general elections.
