Former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao criticized the Revanth Reddy government, accusing it of transferring control of the irrigation projects on the Krishna river to the Centre. He claimed that the residents of Telangana were feeling remorseful for electing the Congress party in the recent elections.

“In his inaugural public appearance since losing power, KCR highlighted a significant shift in governance, comparing the current administration to the previous Congress government by metaphorically contrasting a milch cow with a he-buffalo, symbolizing a noticeable difference within just three months.”

He claimed that the Congress administration relinquished control over irrigation projects and transferred them to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). He questioned the statements made by the state irrigation minister, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who implied that Telangana was better off under the combined Andhra Pradesh regime. He challenged this assertion by questioning why so many youths fought for and lost their lives in the struggle for a separate state, and why countless others participated in protests.

He mentioned that only after the BRS decided to arrange the Nalgonda rally on Krishna river projects, the Congress government hastily passed a resolution in the assembly refusing to transfer the irrigation projects to the KRMB. According to him, this effort was merely half-hearted.

KCR, commonly referred to as the former CM, highlighted that the state, which enjoyed uninterrupted power supply throughout the day during the BRS regime, is now experiencing power cuts shortly after the Congress assumed power. He emphasized that even the assembly sessions had to rely on generators for power supply. This situation clearly indicates the incompetence of the Congress leaders. He stated that they would hold them accountable for their failure to provide adequate power supply to the people.

The president of the BRS also accused the Congress government of failing to adequately support farmers through the Rythu Bandhu scheme. He condemned a Congress minister for threatening farmers with violence when they raised concerns, asserting that such behavior was unacceptable. He emphasized that if farmers protested, these ministers wouldn’t be able to confront them.

KCR stated that his purpose in visiting Nalgonda was to highlight the injustice resulting from the transfer of Krishna projects to the KRMB. He clarified that his visit was not a political rally but rather a stance for the rightful entitlements of Telangana concerning Krishna water, vowing to persist in advocating for Telangana’s welfare.

Regarding the Congress leaders’ inspection of the Medigadda project, which is part of Kaleshwaram, KCR remarked that irrigation projects are not mere playthings but massive endeavors involving extensive reservoirs and canals. He acknowledged that incidents like pillars sinking in a barrage could occur due to various reasons but stressed that such challenges should be addressed and the projects continued rather than exploited for political gain, drawing parallels with past incidents in projects like Nagarjunasagar.

KCR urged the Congress government to prioritize positive actions for the people rather than criticizing the BRS project. He criticized the government for neglecting development efforts and unnecessarily visiting the Medigadda project.
