“First Image of Ram Lalla Idol Unveiled Inside Ayodhya Temple’s Inner Sanctum”
The unveiling of the Ram Lalla idol, shrouded in a veil, took place on Thursday during the installation ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum.
On Thursday, the idol of Ram Lalla was installed in the innermost chamber of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, preceding the ‘pran-pratishta’ ceremony scheduled for January 22. Crafted by a skilled artist from Mysuru with a lineage of five generations of renowned sculptors, the 51-inch idol of Ram Lalla was transported to the temple on Wednesday.
During the placement ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday, the first photo of the Ram Lalla idol, veiled in a veil, was revealed. The media in-charge of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sharad Sharma, shared the photographs. According to news agency ANI, Vedic Brahmins and revered acharyas led worship ceremonies inside the sacred precincts of the temple. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad mentioned the participation of members from the Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra in the prayers. Arun Dixit, a priest involved in the consecration ceremony, informed PTI that the placement of the Ram Lalla idol occurred on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by prayers and chants, as stated by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Arun Dixit mentioned that Anil Mishra, a trust member, conducted the ‘pradhan sankalp.’ According to Dixit, the purpose of this ceremony is to establish Lord Ram’s idol not only for the benefit of all, the nation, and humanity but also as a tribute to those who contributed to this endeavor.
He mentioned that additional ceremonies were conducted, including the distribution of clothing to Brahmins, and tasks were allocated to all individuals involved, he further explained.
The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony for the Ram temple in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend. Led by priest Lakshmikant Dixit, a team will perform the main rituals, with various celebrities and notable figures also invited. The temple is anticipated to open to the public on January 23. The consecration ceremony preparations have commenced at the temple, believed by many to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, following the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 by ‘kar sevaks.’ In 2019, a landmark Supreme Court judgment resolved the temple-mosque dispute, clearing the way for the temple’s construction.
