On Monday, the High Court denied the former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s requests for anticipatory release in three counts of corruption.

Amaravati: On Monday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court denied N Chandrababu Naidu’s requests for anticipatory relief in three cases involving corruption.

The TDP leader and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s bail requests in the Inner Ring Road, Fiber Net, and Angallu 307 cases were denied by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, according to attorney Krishna Murthy.

The Vijayawada Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) court previously postponed making a decision on Chandrababu Naidu’s bail request. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief’s detention in the alleged multi-million dollar skill development fraud case was prolonged by the ACB court on Thursday till October 19.

When the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu last month in connection with the alleged multi-million dollar skill development scam, it caused political unrest in the state. Several TDP leaders claimed that the arrest was nothing more than a political “witch-hunt” and that Naidu had been detained on the basis of untrue accusations.

N Sanjay, the head of the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department, claimed that Chandrababu Naidu was the main organizer of the AP Skill development scandal and that he had engineered the entire scheme of corruption while serving as Chief Minister.

In the skill development scam case, the Supreme Court did not grant Chandrababu Naidu any temporary relief on Tuesday. On October 9, the court will now hear Naidu’s plea.

The Telugu Desam Party leaders and Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of Chandrababu Naidu, protested against the TDP chief’s arrest on Saturday by turning out the lights at the party’s temporary camp office and lighting earthen lamps.
