17 Indians who were coerced into hazardous labor in Laos are now returning home, announces S Jaishankar
Seventeen Indian workers, who were deceived into engaging in hazardous and unlawful labor in Laos, are currently en route back to their homeland, stated External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today. He also praised the Indian embassy in Laos for effectively resolving the situation. In a message on X, he asserted that “Modi’s Guarantee” ensures the welfare of Indians both domestically and internationally, emphasizing the successful repatriation of these workers as evidence of this commitment.

The Ministry of External Affairs issued a warning on Thursday urging Indian citizens to be cautious of human traffickers who offer attractive employment prospects in Cambodia.
In the advisory, the ministry advised Indians seeking employment in the Southeast Asian nation to carefully investigate the background of their potential employers.
