Arvind Kejriwal set to unveil major revelations in liquor policy controversy today
Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has stated that her husband will unveil significant information regarding an alleged excise policy scam in court on Thursday. Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case related to the excise policy, is expected to present evidence during the court proceedings on March 28. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader’s custodial remand is scheduled to end on March 28, and the ED may either request an extension or seek judicial custody for him.
She alleged that during her encounter with the Delhi Chief Minister while he was in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, Arvind Kejriwal informed her that the central agency had conducted over 250 raids related to the alleged liquor scam in the past two years, yet no incriminating evidence had been found. Sunita Kejriwal praised her husband as brave, patriotic, and sincere, despite his diabetic condition, expressing his distress over the situation and questioning whether the central government aimed to harm Delhi. She urged the public to pray for the Chief Minister’s health and success.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is expected to appear in a Delhi court on Thursday following the conclusion of his custody by the Enforcement Directorate, which is scheduled until March 28. The Enforcement Directorate had sought a 10-day custodial interrogation, but the court granted six days. The ED has accused Kejriwal of involvement in the alleged Delhi liquor scam, alleging his role in the formulation and execution of policies that favored certain entities and benefited from kickbacks, including using some proceeds for election campaigns in Goa.
