“DMK Unveils Candidate List and Manifesto for Lok Sabha Elections: Pledges to Outlaw NEET”

On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin unveiled the DMK manifesto and revealed the party’s candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

MP MK Stalin’s sister Kanimozhi and other party leaders attended the event in Chennai. The DMK pledged statehood for Puducherry and vowed to prohibit NEET, among other commitments outlined in its manifesto.

In its manifesto, the DMK proposed that until the governor’s office is abolished, governors should be appointed in consultation with the state’s chief minister. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin emphasized the party’s commitment to fulfilling manifesto promises, highlighting that it reflects the aspirations of the people. He criticized the BJP for unfulfilled election pledges and expressed confidence in forming a government in 2024 through the INDIA alliance. The manifesto includes special schemes for Tamil Nadu and pledges statehood for Puducherry and a ban on NEET. Kanimozhi and other party leaders joined him at the manifesto release event in Chennai.

DMK MP Kanimozhi expressed gratitude for leading the manifesto committee, aiming to extend the Dravidian model nationwide. Key promises include rejecting CAA and Uniform Civil Code, amending Article 361, elevating Thirukural’s status, granting Indian citizenship to Sri Lankan Tamils, and providing ₹1000 monthly to women. Additionally, they pledge to abolish toll gates on national highways and cap prices for LPG, petrol, and diesel. DMK plans to contest 21 Lok Sabha seats with allies contesting the rest in Tamil Nadu.
