Mukesh Kumar, the fast bowler, was dropped from the Indian squad prior to the third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium, formerly known as the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Mukesh had a lackluster performance in the second Test in Visakhapatnam, securing just one wicket and delivering the fewest overs among all Indian bowlers. Mohammed Siraj has taken Mukesh’s place in the playing eleven for the crucial Test match, having been rested for the previous game. Siraj will now feature in the next three Tests of the series.

Mukesh has traveled to Kolkata to join the Bengal team ahead of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group B game against Bihar, scheduled to commence at the Eden Gardens on Friday. Afterward, he will return to the Indian squad in time for the fourth Test match in Ranchi.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Mukesh Kumar has been released from the Indian squad for the third Test against England in Rajkot. He will join his Ranji Trophy team, Bengal, for their upcoming match before rejoining the Indian team in Ranchi. Mukesh’s role will be crucial towards the latter part of the series, especially with India’s main pace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, likely to be rested for the fourth Test to manage his workload.

In other news, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat. The series is currently tied at 1-1, and England’s captain Ben Stokes is marking his 100th Test appearance in this match.

India has introduced Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, both making their debuts, into the team for the third Test, replacing KS Bharat. Meanwhile, England has opted for Mark Wood over Shoaib Bashir in their lineup for the upcoming match.
