“Sourav Ganguly Supports Inclusion of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in T20I World Cup Squad”

Former captain Sourav Ganguly expressed support for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to be included in India’s T20I World Cup squad in June. Despite their absence from T20Is for over a year, both players have made themselves available for the upcoming series against Afghanistan. Ganguly endorsed Rohit as the T20I captain and emphasized Kohli’s exceptional skills. The last time the duo played in the T20I format was during India’s semifinal defeat to England on November 10.

Ganguly also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performance in the South Africa Test series, acknowledging that the young opener would receive ample opportunities in the future. Despite a challenging series with only 50 runs in four innings, Ganguly sees Jaiswal’s recent outing as the beginning of a promising career.

Reflecting on India’s Test series against South Africa, Ganguly dismissed concerns raised after the Centurion defeat, highlighting India’s strong overall performance in the ODI series and the drawn Test and T20I series. He emphasized India’s resilience and success, particularly with their seven-wicket victory at Cape Town, which marked the shortest-ever Test.
