Enthralled by the performance, Shreyas Iyer showers commendation on India’s emerging batsmen following their triumph in the T20I series.

Star batsman Shreyas Iyer praised the batting performance of the Indian team in the five-match T20I series against Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. With the exception of the last two games, India managed to score over 200 runs in three consecutive matches. Players like Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaiwkad showcased impressive batting throughout the series. India secured victory in the final T20I, with Shreyas contributing 53 runs to help the team reach a total of 160/8.
Expressing his satisfaction with the team’s 4-1 series win, Shreyas commended the consistent batting performances, saying, “Elated to see everyone chipping in and the way these guys stood up from game one, especially in the batting department is mesmerising to see.”
In the final over, Arshdeep Singh, who had conceded 37 runs in his first three overs, maintained composure and ensured India’s victory. Shreyas applauded the calmness displayed by Arshdeep, stating, “I could see the calmness in him (Arshdeep) when he was bowling the last over, kudos to the way he composed himself.”
Reflecting on his crucial innings, Shreyas mentioned the challenging conditions and the need to assess them, saying, “When I saw 3 wickets falling down, I started to calculate what would be the best score on this wicket and it wasn’t an easy wicket to bat on.” He emphasized the team’s collective effort in assessing the conditions and batting accordingly, praising the bowlers for restricting Australia.
In the match, Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer’s 46-run partnership played a vital role in India reaching a total of 160/8. Despite Australia’s strong start, the wickets fell regularly. The game came down to the final over, with Arshdeep defending the total and guiding India to a six-run victory.
