Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased exceptional form during India’s second T20I against Australia at Thiruvananthapuram’s Greenfield International Stadium. As Australia chose to bowl first, Jaiswal’s explosive innings of 53 runs off 25 balls set a new record for the most runs by an Indian in the powerplay of a T20I.
Alongside Ishan Kishan, who contributed 52 runs off 32 deliveries, India posted a commanding total of 235 for 4. The duo of Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna, with three wickets each, played a crucial role in restricting Australia to 191-9.
India now leads the five-match series 2-0. Captain Suryakumar Yadav praised the team’s batting performance, emphasizing the players’ readiness to bat first. Jaiswal, earning the man of the match, expressed the special nature of his innings, highlighting his fearless and decisive approach.
