Thai cave rescue specialists are advising; completion of the Uttarakhand tunnel operation might extend by 2-3 days.

A faster and more powerful 'American auger' machine has begun work at the Silkyara Tunnel.

As the rescue mission in Uttarakhand’s tunnel reached its fifth day, Union Minister VK Singh stated it might take 2-3 more days, though possibly earlier. A robust ‘American auger’ is now in use. Singh confirmed foreign experts, including those who aided the Thai cave rescue, are consulted. Facing challenges with the initial machine, a faster one is deployed. Singh assured all efforts for a swift rescue. Teams contacted a Thai company and the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute for advice. Despite potential earlier completion, a 2-3 day timeline is kept for unforeseen obstacles.
