Putin’s caution to the West: “Attempts To Turn India Away Pointless”
“Attempts To Turn India Away Pointless”: Putin’s Warning To The West “Attempts to turn India away from Russia are pointless, India is an independent state,” Vladimir Putin remarked.
ochi: According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, India’s government was acting independently in the interests of its population, and any attempts by the West to sour relations between Moscow and New Delhi would be fruitless.
At a keynote speech in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi, Putin said, “The West is trying to create an enemy out of everyone who does not agree with their monopoly, everyone is at risk – even India, but the Indian leadership is acting independently in the interests of its nation.”
India is an independent state, so efforts to keep it away from Russia are useless, he continued.
His comments come as Indian refiners face criticism for buying Russian oil at a discount after the West slapped sanctions on the country. As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February of last year, the US and the EU stopped purchasing oil from that country.
Putin lavished praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that under his leadership, India is getting stronger and stronger.
“India is a powerful, massive country with a population of over 1.5 billion and an economic growth rate of over 7%. And it is getting stronger and stronger under Prime Minister Modi’s direction,” stated Putin.
Additionally, he claimed that India has no frontiers like Russia does since Indians are establishing themselves in practically every region of the world.
Since beginning a full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022, Putin has hardly ever left Russia. He recently chose not to attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi as well as the BRICS meeting in South Africa. Putin gave an explanation for his absence, stating that he did not want to create a “political show” by attending the meetings.
As a member of the International Criminal Court, South Africa would be expected to enforce the warrant’s requirement if the Russian leader were to enter the nation.
Why should I cause issues for our friends at a gathering? said Putin.
Because of Putin’s decision to send soldiers to Ukraine last year and the forcible deportation of children to Russia, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for him in March. The arrest warrant has been deemed “illegal” by Moscow.
